About MaryLee

A Gentle Path Back to Balance

For more than thirty years, MaryLee Calmes has walked beside people on their journey toward true healing. As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, herbalist, and educator, she weaves ancient wisdom with modern understanding to help others reconnect with the natural rhythms that sustain life. Her work is rooted in a simple truth: the body already knows how to heal, it simply needs the right conditions, time, and compassionate attention.

From Illness to Insight

MaryLee’s own healing began in the midst of illness. When conventional approaches could not bring lasting relief, she turned inward and discovered the deep, cyclical patterns of TCM and nature-based living. Through decades of study, practice, and personal transformation, she learned that healing is not a race,it’s a rhythm. That rhythm now flows through all she teaches and shares, inviting others to slow down, listen, and trust the body’s quiet wisdom.

Through her Rhythms of Renewal™ community and Advanced Wellness Blog, MaryLee offers reflections, seasonal guides, recipes, and meditations that bridge science, spirit, and natural medicine. Her approach is gentle yet grounded, designed to help others restore energy, clarity, and inner calm while honoring their unique constitution and life stage. Each piece of her work is an invitation to live in harmony with nature’s seasons and the cycles within.

A Living Practice

Beyond her clinical background in acupuncture, Oriental medicine, and psychology, MaryLee lives what she teaches. She gardens, keeps chickens, writes, and tends to her own seasonal rituals, living in rhythm with the Earth’s cycles. Her practice is less about perfection and more about presence: finding harmony and joy in ordinary moments and remembering that wellness begins with how we live each day.
