Return What is Not Mine

A Gentle Ritual for Releasing Chaotic Energy In the season of Late Summer, we are called inward, back to our center, our earth. This is a time to gather what nourishes and release what no longer belongs to us. When another’s grief, confusion, or energy lingers in our field, it can cloud our clarity. This ritual is a soft return to yourself. Grounded, whole, and quietly powerful.
Read Time < 1 minute

Choose a quiet time, sunrise or twilight are ideal.
Open a window or door slightly.
Place a bowl of salt water nearby. Light incense if desired.

Let your feet meet the earth. Spine tall, breath soft.
Bring awareness to your body, gently.

Use your hands like brooms.
Starting at the crown of your head, sweep downward: head, chest, belly, legs.
With each sweep, say softly:
“This is mine. This is me.”
“This is not mine. I release it now.”
Flick your hands outward with each pass.

Speak or whisper:
“I return all energies that are not mine.”
“I release all ties of burden, confusion, or projection.”
“I reclaim the space within me. I am whole.”
Repeat 3 times.

Burn a small slip of paper with initials or name (optional).Or press a small handful of earth to your heart and belly.
Say:

“What is hers returns to her.”
“What is mine returns to me.”
“May all beings heal in their own time.”
Dispose of ashes or earth in the salt water and return it to the earth.

  • Epsom salt bath with lavender or cypress
  • Ginger tea for grounding and clearing
  • Gentle qigong: “Drawing Down Heaven” or “Clearing the Clouds”
  • Journaling to reaffirm your energetic boundaries
